Vancouver City Central Transmission (VCCT) 230 kV Cable Project

Vancouver City Central Transmission (VCCT) 230 kV Cable Project / Vancouver, BC

The Vancouver City Central Transmission (VCCT) cable project consisted of installing a new transmission line under the streets of Downtown Vancouver. WPE's cable crew installed two 230 kV cable circuits, 25km total in cable plus all splices and terminatons. The new transmission line connects the new Mount Pleasant Substation to two existing substations: Cathedral Square Substation in Downtown Vancouver and Sperling Substation at Arbutus Street and W. King Edward Ave. In addition to cable pulling, WPE was also successful in tendering and completing the upgrade work at all three connecting stations.
